Everything about Devon Windsor that you need to know
Devon Windsor is an American model. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. Devon is the daughter of Charles and Lisa Windsor and has one sister, Alexandra.
Devon tended high school at Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School. Unlike many models, Devon Windsor didn’t start a full-time modeling career until after high school. She wanted to “do prom and sports and normal stuff” as she said in an interview.
Instead of banking on modeling end, Windsor was happily doing smaller modeling jobs in St. Louis, Chicago, and Los Angeles — some prestigious, some not. Devon played field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, and ran track. After graduating from high school in 2012, she competed at state as a track athlete.
During her high school days, some agencies recommended her to avoid sports, especially lacrosse and field hockey, because of the potential for injuries and gaining too much muscle. But she played anyway. Her Mother, Lisa, and Gail Lasater, West Model & Talent founder, encouraged her to do whatever she likes, have fun, and work hard later.
In 2012 and after graduation, she toured some college campuses But instead of heading to college, IMG Models, sent her off to Milan to learn the ropes at the age of 18.
Discovery & debut
Around the age 14, She went to a Bar Mitzvah and met a local photographer (Suzy Gorman) who she ended up calling and did a photo shoot with her. That led her to sign with West Model & Talent Management in 2008, in St. Louis, Missouri. During high school, she did her first modeling jobs for local St. Louis publications and fashion shows. Later in 2009, Devon signed with another agency, Vision Model Management, and worked in Los Angeles for summer 2009. One year after, she signed with IMG Models in New York.
After she was graduated from high school in 2012, she moved to Europe and worked with IMG London and IMG Milan. High fashion modeling is a lucrative field that is highly competitive and highly selective. Windsor was slim, healthy, and muscled, but she had to lose 3 inches from her hips if she wanted to be a high fashion model.
Although she didn’t require to lose much weight, she had to lose some muscle. So, She got help from a trainer and nutritionist, lost about 12 pounds, and her physique gradually changed from athletic to waifish. During the time in europe, Devon worked with some fashion magazines, including Cream, Punkt, Bullett, Gioia.
She returned to New York in 2013 and walked her very first fashion week for the Spring/Summer 2014 shows. Devon Windsor breaking point was in September 2013 when She was contracted to walk for Prada, an exclusive highly attended show in Milan. Dex’s mother co-founded Alexis.
Dex personally designed Devon’s engagement ring. The massive ring took a full month to make. It was handmade by my master jeweler in New York City. They handset 171 round diamonds, and the platinum can’t be seen in any piece of the ring.
Devon revealed the exciting details on her Instagram. Dex planned an elaborate ruse that involved Devon believing she was flying to a location in the Bahamas for a photo shoot. Though, when the plane flew over the tiny private beach, what Devon saw the words “MARRY ME” spelled out in the sand with roses.
Johnny was waiting for Devon there on one knee with a fascinating oval-cut diamond ring.
