Everything About Sarah Nicole Landry That You Need To Know
Who Is She?
The 34-year-old Sarah Nicole Landry comes from Ontario, Canada. She introduces herself as a mother, a writer, and a creator on her Instagram page. The inspiring social media star is also a mother of three children, the 12-year-old Maya, the 10-year-old Jemma, and the 8-year-old Boden. She is not only credited for losing 111Ibs (about 50 kg) but also for her honest and genuine feelings and writings. She openly talks about the most sensitive parts and feelings of her life.
How Did Everything Start?
She has her Instagram as a place of journalistic self-reflection, of what she keeps in her heart. Before losing weight, she says, she was aware of how “absent” she was in her life, how non-interactive she was with her children, how little she cared about her well-being, and how she was afraid of being seen in the public. She started to lose weight, but this was not the happy ending.
She had the enormous loss of weight (losing 111 Ibs of 225 Ibs or 50 kg of 102 kg) and a consequent development of a massive insecurity and self-hatred, which she says she had to explore and bring to the surface. After losing weight, she went through a divorce which took a lot of things out of her life. She became too thin and sick. She was losing weight out of panic, depression, and stress, while everyone congratulated her for losing weight, regardless of how unhealthy she was and how lonely she felt. That was the time when she realized how bodies that are too thin have turned into idols in our societies. All women wish to be skinny, no matter how the losing weight process takes place! It was tangible for her that how both being overweight and underweight can harm one’s body.
How Did She Liberate Herself?
She started to gain weight by eating healthy, working out regularly, and making a real change by having positive body image. She tried to change her mindset instead of her body marks. Now, she loves her body and admires its strengths, with all its lines, stretch marks, dimples and cellulites which had appeared on her body out of carrying three really large babies. She even sometimes goes out without wearing a bra. She basically tries to do whatever she once considered as “disgusting,” since she has fundamentally changed her mentality. Sarah stopped following accounts that made her “feel bad” about herself and started “looking at positive ones,” which she says helped her become “less judgmental” and change her mind set. One big step was taken as simple as throwing the scale out of window! She says her life went much happier after she totally forgot about the scale’s numbers.
What Other Changes Did She Make in Her Life?
She forgot about others and started to have a healthy life. She confesses she always hated all her workout plans! But she loves her feeling afterward. She also turned vegan as she always had stomach problems since she was a little girl. Sarah decided to understand her body and see what is best for her body. She found out that her body is intolerant to gluten and dairy. Therefore, by cutting out these substances, she could overcome her allergies. After becoming a vegan, she grew interest for vegetables which never made her sick.
How Does She Try to Liberate Other Women?
There were times in her life, in which thought she needs to stop being OK and just be listened to, by friends or family. She wanted to create a “self-care” by starting to write about her problems. She wanted to honor herself, stop living in the past, or worrying about the future. Sarah states that “small individual choices can add up to a healthy and beautiful life.” Therefore, she started writing her heart out online.
She began to open up online about her most vulnerable things. Sarah provided a space to talk about her problems and also met women who were going through the exact same things. She states in her IG posts that she believes in “building community and having conversations and positive impacts along the way.” Sarah has also made a new social media wave by showing off stretch marks on her stomach, butt, and legs. Sarah later announced that her purpose was to help other women set themselves free and stop being negative and judgmental.
She helps not only other people to have positive thoughts about their bodies, but also her children. Sarah says she teaches her daughters not to use physical attributes as a compliment or worry if someone ever called them “fat” or any similarly offensive word. She says she loves empowering her children “with words that matter” rather than talking about “calories, size, weight, or prettiness.” Her three children are actually having her more than any time before in their lives after she made herself free and stopped worrying about her weight or physical appearance.
How Does Her Love Life Go On?
After the loneliness and depression she experienced during her divorce, she was able to pull herself together again. And that was the time when she met Shane Landry, the CTO of Canada’s fastest growing publishing company, Concourse Media. Shane and Sarah spend the most wonderful days of their lives while they share a simple philosophy: truth, kindness, and positivity.
Shane, also, had an absolutely terrible time before meeting Sarah. He says his job was unfulfilling and his first marriage was ending when he reached the turning point in her life where he had to choose between multiple paths with multiple factors. He says he started to see everything positively and be thankful for what he had been lucky to have. Shane decided to surround himself with the most positive people, a decision which finally led him to find Sarah after “a series of unbelievable, self-fulfilling events.”
Shane and Sarah have one most important thing in common: at one decisive phase in their lives, they made up their minds to make a change and they did. They believe that there are things one can change in his/her life, and there are things that cannot be changed. One should challenge him/herself to change those he/she can and to stop worrying and dwelling on things out of his/her control. Also, failures should be embraced through self-reflection in order to achieve one’s goals. Shane and Sarah lead a happy life based on these ideas and they do their best to teach them to Sarah’s children.
