Katy Hearn is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, born and raised. While growing up, she was the little kid in the class. She is 5ft (155cm) now, do the math yourself.

You think she was always a sports geek? No. in fact, she says she would never saw herself changing her physique, like ever. There was a time when she weighed less than 100 pounds (45 kg), and never played any sports or exercised in a gym.

Finding Fitness

After graduating from high school, Katy went to her local community college. Drinking and overeating fast food because of the culture of every college environment, she began to gain weight and added about 15 pounds (7kg).

What was the thing that forced her to change? Like many of us, it was a couple of pictures. She had a big birthday night out when she was 21. Katy wore a tight dress which she loved very much. After getting back home, she went through the pictures of the night and didn’t like what she saw. So, she decided to change her lifestyle for the better.

Building Her body

She instantly joined her local gym and started to study different workout plans and nutrition plans for weight loss. After 3 months of constant effort and hard work in the gym, she was finally able to lose all the extra weight and fat in her body.

“I remember making my first photo comparison, my eyes filled with tears when I realized, I did it. I made sacrifices, worked hard, and it all has paid off.” Katy said.

Around that time people started seeing the changes she made to her physique. Compliments were coming from all of her friends, but she believes that they didn’t truly understand the difficult work that she had put into building her body.

“My family didn’t care much about my workouts. They didn’t think it was exciting or cool. None of my friends did too — they didn’t change. They kept on drinking, partying and eating bad food.” Katy said.

Though, some people did begin to consider her routine as opposed to the results alone. She enjoyed talking about her favorite exercises to people who listened, but without proper certifications, she thought she doesn’t have a right to lecture people.

Becoming A Personal Trainer

She came to realize that if she wants to really help people reach their goals, she must become a certified fitness trainer. She got her first personal training course in April 2013 and graduated as the top student in her class.

After successfully passing that course, she started working with clients instantly. She found more clients as she was becoming more popular at her local gym and also through social media like Instagram and Twitter. With fitness being a fast-growing field in online businesses, and as she became a celebrity on social media, She decided to develop an online personal training business to help interested people who could not meet her face to face.

Katy doesn’t like adding too much volume to her body. She instead prefers to focus on keeping her muscle size the same and adding tone and shape to them. To do that, she has designed an exercise routine which centers on maintaining a “bikini ready” body.

Legs

Katy digs hitting the glutes, and she strikes them, hard. Combining activities such as squats and lunges with weights or just her bodyweight. She also completes sled pulls to engage her whole legs. This routine also works as a cardio workout which she believes it helps with fat burning needs.

Cardiovascular routine

When it comes to cardio, Katy prefers jogging in combination with intense Interval Training workouts to burn calories quickly. She concluded these jogs on the treadmill, but also runs outside during the summer.

Katy has launched a web site about fitness and things related. In the site, you can purchase her eight-week challenge programs as well as her “Build a Booty” plan.

She runs a 10,000 square-foot gym in New Albany, IN. The gym was founded by Katy and her husband (fiance at the time) in April 2016.
