Whitney Simmons is an American social media personality and fitness enthusiast from California. She became famous after sharing instructional and motivational videos on her YouTube channel, mainly for women.

While growing up, Whitney was remarkably active. She was a gymnast and competed in that field for 11 years. Whitney was in love with the idea of becoming a cheerleader. She tested for the cheerleading squad at Utah State University and was accepted on the team.

She dropped out of the college in her 4th semester, became depressed, let her self go and started eating poorly. Whitney was finally motivated to hit the gym again and bring her workouts in use as a kind of “therapy” to make her regain her happiness after all.

Today, Whitney has become famous on YouTube. She hopes to inspire other women to start their journey to grow fit and build their best frame.

Withney Simmons was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is the second oldest child of a family of five children. Whitney also lived in Arizona. She has three brothers named Austin, Slade and Deacon and one sister named Claire. Growing up Whitney was remarkably active. Whitney’s parents were into fitness so they would cheer young Whitney to exercise with them frequently.

When she was young, She enrolls in gymnastics. Gradually, She became an excellent gymnast and competed for about 11 years in that field. The flexibility and ability to complete acrobatic moves that gymnastic brought for her, inspired her to become a cheerleader at college.

She tried out for the college cheerleading team at Utah state university and, got into the squad. Then, she moved there to start college and “loved every minute” of her first year spent cheering for the football squads and basketball teams.

Sadly, at the beginning of her 2nd year at college, she was cut from the cheerleading team. According to her, she was actually the first person ever that has been released from a cheerleading squad at the university, so she was very depressed.

The dramatic effects of being dropped from the team were overwhelming for Whitney. She become extremly depressed and stopped all her activities altogether – spending a lot of time in her room crying.

Whitney started stress feeding and eating a lot of junk food to feel better. She says that it wasn’t unusual for her to have two McDonald’s double cheeseburgers for lunch every day.

After she came back home, her parents became concerned about how sad she was. Her dad recommended to her that she get back into shape, as a way to help her get rid of the depression.

Whitney says she thought weightlifting was wholly opposed to what she needed. She thought it may make her bulky and massive. Whitney wasn’t aware of the toning benefits of lifting weights for women.

She finally decided to hit the gym again. Just right after she started working out, the results were unbelievable, and she got hooked. Looking back at that time, “the gym was her mental and physical therapy,” she said.

Whitney Simmons loved how the sport stimulated endorphin has made her feel after every gym session, but she also fancied how fast she was changing her body. She started to keep the people updated with her progress on social media. First, she started with Instagram, then moved on to YouTube.

Whitney spends a lot of time on planning workouts for women. She regularly uploads on YouTube; showing her fans exactly what she does to maintain the body she has built.

She is focused mainly on the ab muscles and glutes  – trying to build a toned beach ready body which nearly all women want to have. To build that physique, she also doesn’t lift too heavily. She works with lighter barbells and dumbbells; focusing on appearance and tone instead of size.

She loves eating correctly and working the abs hard to keep muscle visibility. When it comes to cardio, Whitney loves High-Intensity Interval Training.

Nutrition

After her year of eating badly at college, Whitney pitched herself into healthy eating and read a lot about proper nutrition. She aims to slim, toned and adds muscle, so has planned a diet to meet these needs.

Whitney wakes up around 7am and eats eggs most mornings. By far, her favorite meal of the day is breakfast, and she likes to eat healthy waffles alongside the eggs. Then, She mixes orange juice with whey protein, to create a high-protein and delicious shake.

After being cut from the cheerleading team, Whitney became deeply depressed. She used the workout as a way to break out of her depression and find positive energy.
